Do I need to know any Italian to start?

No. Write in English if that is all you have. Every English word comes back as the Italian one, and that is where you start.

What if I write half of it in English?

That is the idea. English marks the room to learn. Controlla swaps those words and explains the changes.

Who reads my diary?

Nobody. Entries stay on your phone. When you tap Controlla, the sentence is checked and forgotten. There is no account and nothing is stored on our side.

Does it work with Italian I hear, not just read?

Yes. Every corrected sentence and every word is read aloud by one real Italian voice, and you can play any word slowly.

What happens after 30 days?

Your diary stays yours. Learn keeps the checker and the voice switched on, and you manage it in the App Store like any subscription.

Can I switch the whole app to Italian?

Yes. One switch in settings turns every label Italian and drops the English handrail. The explanations stay in English, because that is the language you learn from.
